Nokia 6230i reviews-rates-specifications

The Nokia Camp seem to be giving higher emphasis on renovating their older version phones. This ones a successor of the ever ruling trend setter the 6230. The 6230 had set its own segment in the Mid-priced, Mp3 stereo, Series 40 phone. And now the similar looking 6230i looks to take over. The Nokia 6230i has an exceptional set of features. It has a 1.3 Mega pixel Camera, a improved display, an exceptionally increased internal memory, Mp3 stereo, browser that supports many html pages, PTT(Push to talk technology) and also a Bluetooth device equipped to rule its own segment. The keypad provided is quiet similar to 6230, the only change is the inclusion of a silver button in the middle of the 5 way navigation scroll.

The phone is available for Tri-band networks like EGSM 900, GSM 1800, and GSM 1900 networks and works in Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America, and South America where these networks are supported. There is also a feature of automatic switching between bands. The 6230i wieghs 99 g (including battery BL-5C) which is 2.0 g more than 6230 but contrarily enjoys similar dimensions(103 mm x 44 mm x 20 mm, 76 cc). It is equipped with a Active TFT colour display which supports 65536 colours within 208 x 208 pixels ensuring a better display quality.

It has a 1.3 Mega-pixel Camera armed to its back. The picture quality is excellent and when the images are transfered to the computer, an image size 1280 x1024 pixels is obtained. The user may record videos in the 3GPP QCIF video file format (H.263 video and AMR for improved sound) and record up to one hour of video, depending on the amount of memory available on the phone or MMC card. Also the users may print the pictures taken through the phone and print in through Bluetooth synchronisation.

The 6230i is a well equipped multimedia phone with sufficient multimedia functions. There is a integrated video player for download and playback: 3GPP, MPEG-4, and AMR. The music player supports AAC, MP3, and M4A formats but the software is same as the 6230. The player has set its own class of quality music within the mp3 stereo phones market. Although the clearity of sound is amazing, the phone seems to be just a bit short of volume. May be a couple of units more in the sound could have proved worhthwhile. Video encoding and playback are in the QCIF format with sound. It also has a FM stereo radio.

The Phone Memory is a considerable improvement. The beast carries a mind blowing 30 MB internal memory (approximately 26 MB available for video, audio, image files, and other documents). The MMC which is included in sales package can be anywhere between 32Mb to 128Mb depending on the locations. The phone supports upto 512 MB of MMC card capacity. The software includes three games. 3D Golf and Street Racer (all regions), plus Backgammon (Europe, Middle East and Africa) or Space Mahjong (Asia-Pacific).

The Call Management features include, Speed dialing up to 9 numbers, Last number redial from dialed calls list, Automatic redial for a maximum of 10 times, Automatic answer, Call waiting, call hold, call divert, call timer, Automatic and manual network selection, Caller identification with image, Conference call with up to 5 callers.

In all the Nokia 6230i seems to be a positive purchase. But the increase in the features has brought about a change in the battery life. The Nokia camp has a assured success in its future.

Sales Package includes:
1 Hanset Nokia 6230i
1 Battery BL-5C
1 Stereo Headset HDS-3
1 32 Mb MMC Card
1 Travel Charger ACP-12
1 Owners Manual
1 Nokia Software Disc

Nokia 6020 reviews-rates-technical specifications

Lately, Nokia introduced a new handset to enter the mid-priced segment belonging to the ever ruling 6610 and 6610i. The recent handset is very comfortable to use and is luckily not too large to fit into the user's pocket. So, Nokia has unveiled Nokia 6020. The Nokia 6020 looks greatly stylish and none can resist its compact keypad which also includes a joystick.

The weight of Nokia 6020 is 90g and it measures 106mm x 44mm x 20mm, 73cc. It operates with Triband coverage on five continents- EGSM900/GSM1800/1900 with automatic switching between the bands.

The handset consists of Series 40 user interface, large, high resolution color display, support up to 65,536 colors, 128 x 128 pixel resolution, graphical user interface with selectable themes and a very very comfortable and well-situated keypad which is big enough to not create strain to the user's finger. Apart from these it also has an Integrated VGA Digital Camera, resolution 640 x 480 pixels. The displayed formats available are JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, BMP and WBMP.

With respect to connectivity, the handset has an inclusion of Infrared, USB with Pop-Port Interface, local synchronization of picture gallery, contacts and calendar to PC using Nokia PC suite, remote over-the-air synchronization with SyncML, sending and receiving images, video clips, graphics and business cards and extensive calendar to manage your daily schedules, meetings and events.

For transfer of data, EGPRS multislot class 6, up to 177.6 kbps, GPRS multislot class 10, up to 80 kbps, HSCSD multislot class 6, up to 43.2 kbps. Also contains Java applications i.e Java MIDP 2.0, pre-installed Java utility application and game midlets and downloadable applications including new clients and travel guides.

Graphics, icons, animations, logos are available with Digital services. It allows the user to download new games. There is MIDI ringing, alert and gaming tones with support for up to 16 voices. Also the user can download new themes including animated wallpapers, animated screensavers, color schemes and ring tones.

In order to browse the Nokia 6020 has Image upload, XHTML browser, browsing over TCP/IP, smart content download - OMA DRM 1.0 OTA provisioning, Mobile wallet for online transactions and storing information such as credit card numbers, user names and passwords.

The user is allowed to SMS picture messages as well as text messages. To MMS, he is provided with MMS 1.0 for image message creating, receiving, editing and sending with AMR voice clips and SMIL. The user can access email accounts whether work or personal, supports POP3, IMAP4 and SMTP-TCP/IP based protocols. Also email over SMS. The user can also chat and it also has distribution lists.

The VGA resolution camera enables the user to capture pictures in portrait mode though they are of average quality. The user can camcord for up to 50 seconds. With regard to call management, the most important of all the handset stores dialed, received and missed calls. Speed-dialing system is available. The memory can store up to 100- 250 entries. Leaving that, the total memory size is 2.5 MB.

There are not much drawbacks except for the usual battery problem. Nokia claims that it is capable of working upto 3 hrs in talktime mode and upto 260 hrs in the standby mode whereas sources claim that for 4 days the device worked for 30 minutes of talks and upto 10 minutes of using other functions.

Otherwise, there seem to be very few problems that the phone gives. Yes, the handset does not support Mp3 format. The handset as said before is stylish and looks awesome. So, go for it. The phone is available is two colours, greyish-blue and off-white.

Nokia E90 specifications-rates-ringtones-themes

If you are someone who looks for functionality and are not bothered by size well then this phone will be able to please you. Carrying the new Nokia E90 communicator is like moving around with a compass box which might not slip into your pocket that comfortably. The phone is based on a Symbian 9.2 S60 third edition technology and is available in two colors: red and mocha. Personally I think the phone is not going to be a hot seller among the masses; it will loose a major part of its audience merely due to its size.

Dimensions and weight:
The Nokia E90 is quite bulky weighing about 210 grams and 132x57x20mm is dimensions. The body of the phone is made of different elements all done with amazing amount of finish. The front is made of metal except for its keypad. The rear is also plastic excluding the battery cover which again is metal.

Display:
The Nokia E90 consists of two displays an external one with a resolution of 240x320 pixels (QVGA format) and 16M colors. Half way down the right side of the display is a light sensor, a major amount of the phone relates work-load is handled by this display and there fore cannot really be called secondary.

The inner display of E90 is what one might call a piece of art with a resolution of 800x352 pixels and 16M colors. Web browsing on this screen is sheer pleasure.

One of the major drawbacks of the phone occurs in the fact that when you fold it completely the keypad touches the screen leaving noticeable scratches on it in the long run. It’s intriguing why the makers of a master piece like E90 couldn’t think of raising the rubber cushions in the corners of the lid by a millimeter to solve the problem.

Memory:
The Nokia E90 has a 128 MB shared memory and 330 MHz ARM processor. A 512 MB microSD memory card is included in the package. It can hold n number of phonebook entries and fields. It is capable of carrying call records of up to 30 days. The phone also allows hot swap.

Data Transfer:
The Nokia N90 has GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, Wi-Fi connectivity. The HSDPA connectivity may seem a little slower than what a notebook can achieve however the speed also depends on factors like network status, time of the day, number of users that have logged on etc. Its internet capabilities are extra ordinary and it goes without saying that its way ahead of regular handsets. However the built-in GPS is incompatible with third party applications in fact it may be safe to say that the built-in GPS is actually the same as that of Nokia N95.

The E90 is packaged with the latest version of Nokia PC Suite giving you full synchronization and modem connectivity, phone memory back, phonebook editing, composing and sending messages directly form the computer and upgrading the phone’s firmware. You can also transfer images and music through quick transfer. The phone also enables the mass storage mode. The E90 has a mini USB pop port.

Camera:
The Nokia N90 has a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus. The LED flash located right next to the lens can work automatically or manually and has a red-eye removal option as well. The lens is sunken half millimeter inside its nest so that it doesn’t touch the surface when in open position however this does not completely rescue it form the risk of getting damaged.

Various functions of the camera are displayed in the toolbar on the right side of the display. The top one allows you to choose if you want to shoot in the still camera or video mode. The shooting mode allows you to set the right color and lighting making available options such as Auto, custom, Macro, portrait, landscape, sport and night mode. Other common settings such as Color Effects (standard, sepia, black and white, negative, vivid), White Balance, Exposure Compensation, Sharpness and contrast will let you get as creative as you want with your shooting. The self timer works at 2, 10 or 20 seconds and can be switched off a well. The light sensitivity option helps you reduce the noise when set on low however this compromises the shutter speed.

Videos can be taken in a number of resolutions ranging from 3GP to VGA (30 fps). Videos are stored in MP4 format and are limited only by available memory space.

The Digital zoom works both for the camera mode and the shooting mode and is operated by moving the navigation key left or right. However in both modes it reduces the picture quality.

Browsing pictures and videos in the Nokia N90 is a delight owing to its large internal screen where the zooming option can be put to full functionality.

Battery:
The Nokia E90 has a standard Li-Ion 1500mAh battery. Just like its big bulky size its energy consumption is also a mouthful. The Nokia E90 will need recharging at least once a day even after normal use incase you need it to work extra time it will call for extra power consumption leading you to having to recharge it even twice in a day. For minimal use the battery may last up to 3 days. If you are to believe the manufacturers the battery gives you 5 hours of talk time and about 330 hours in stand-by mode.

Hence the charger is going to become an integral part of your back pack.

And yes incase you open the battery cover to insert your sim card need to be a little careful because the battery might just fall off as the only thing holding it in place is your battery cover while the memory card has its on cover.

Ringtones:
The Nokia E90 supports 64 tone polyphony plus MP3 format. Ringtones are downloadable and the phone has a vibration mode as well.

Other Features:
The office application in Nokia N90 not only enables you to view your documents but also create new ones and edits them. The phone can run multiple applications quite efficiently however even here it has its limits incase you open way too many application you might meet with a halt of all running applications. The E90 has built-in maps and basic navigation at no extra charges.

The phone has a stereo FM Radio and A2DP enabled Bluetooth that will allow you to use wireless stereo headphones. The radio works on loud speakers also in any case the hands free still has to be connected in order to ensure reception. The phone has a music player that supports music in MP3/M4A/AAC/eAAC+/WMA formats. The stereo headphones included in the package does not have volume controls on its remote control although guess that what makes it smaller and better looking compared to the other ones, the sound quality of the headphones is pretty good however in order to use other headphones you will require a jack adapter using which will definitely lower the music player capabilities. It supports games in the +JAVA format and are downloadable.

The E90 has push to talk option and voice dial. The phone has a secondary QCIF camera for video calls. The phone also has a photo/video editor.

Positives:
The phones major advantage lies in the state of the art internal display that makes viewing images and browsing the internet a sheer experience. The phone has 128 MB internal memory and 512 MB micro SD memory card which give plenty of space to store all your files. Its integrated HSDPA and WLAN make browsing the internet a pleasurable experience. It has a quality email client.

It has A2DP Bluetooth which allows you to use wireless stereo headphones also it has high quality loud speakers. Switching between applications is also very efficient and the overall system speed is also pretty good.

Negatives:
Of all its minus points the two that may bother you the most are one its big size and two its even bigger price. Other problems include its low battery life and also it doesn’t have a small charger like the Nokia N95 that can be carried around easily. The headphones have a 2.5 mm jack (need a jack adapter for other head phones) and no volume controls on the remote control.

The camera does not have a lens cover making it extremely susceptible to damage and the N90 GPS in incompatible with third party applications. Also there is no USB mass storage for phone memory.

Even its most extensive feature its inner display comes with a flaw!! Folding the phone completely leads to the display touching the keypad and doing this a hundred times a day will leave noticeable scratches on the display.

Conclusion:
Big price and big size…. Two things that will definitely work against the Nokia E90. Besides that one of its major drawbacks is that the inner display tends to get scratched since it touches the keyboard every time you close it.

Besides these the phone has one of the best displays available in the market and not to forget its extra ordinary skills when you browse the internet. It enables you to view, create, and edit your office documents. Putting it down in one phrase, "A complete business phone." However keep in mind that with phone your business day cannot be too long because it’s a monster when it comes to battery consumption.

My conclusion great for business use, but just not fancy enough too attract a wider audience.

Nokia 5610 Specification Rate ringtone themes

For music fans I would say the phone that may live up to n number of your expectations is finally here. As far the camera is concerned if you are not demanding even that will prove to be quite decent. Also it has many innovative features that are worth paying attention to.

The new Nokia 5610’s technology is based on S40 5th edition. The phone’s available in two colors red (with silver highlights) and blue (with grey highlights). In my opinion it’s going to be a widely appreciated phone.

Dimensions and Weight
The Nokia 5610 weighs about 111 grams and is 98.5x48.5x17 mm in dimensions making it an average sized phone.
Its construction though is worth mentioning; it’s a solid phone with high quality construction and steel highlights and the rear panel is dimple patterned for a better grip.

Display

The Nokia 5610 has a 2.2’’ TFT QVGA (240x320 pixels) display with approx. 16 million colors. The dimensions of the screen are about 33.5x44.7 mm.

The display gives you hardly any chance to complain with its deep colors and perfect contrasts and has flawless legibility even in bright sunlight.

Memory
The Nokia 5610 has an internal memory of 20 MB and has a microSD card slot with hot swap. The phone book can store up to 2000 entries.

Data Transfer
The Nokia 5610 supports a quad band GSM network (with frequencies: 850, 900, 1000 and 1900 MHz) and dual band 3G support (frequencies: 2100 and 850 MHz). The phone’s firmware can be updated directly via the GSM network.
The Nokia 5610 has an integrated email client that works with POP3, SMTP and IMAP4 protocols and can handle up to 5 mail boxes. You can opt for an automatic mail check and also choose if you want to view only the headers or entire messages. It has no limit on attachment sizes.

Disappointment may come your way due to the lack of HSDPA support since the phone relies on the rather outdated CSD besides that the phone has GPRS (class 10), EDGE and UTMS (384 Kbps) for faster downloads.

The phone comes along with a microUSB data cable the port for which is on the top side of the phone. The phone package also includes a CD with the Nokia PC suite, the starter version of adobe Photoshop album for working with your photos and the basic package of Ulead video toolbox for work with videos. When the phone is paired with a PC it can work on any of the three offered modes: synchronization, picture print over PictBridge or USB mass storage device (the memory card will appear as a removable drive on the PC). The option lacking here is that you can not charge your phone off the USB (which is available on Nokia 6500 classic).
Data transfer is also possible through Bluetooth (version 2.0).

Battery
The Nokia 5610 has a 900 mAh battery with a talk time of about 6 hours and stand by time of 320 hours. With minimal use the battery might even last for about 4 days. It takes about an hour and a half to charge completely.

The battery cover gives a little creak when you try to remove it; however this might be the only creak you will hear in the phone.

Camera
The Nokia 5610 offers a 3.2 mega pixel camera with an autofocus and a pair of LED flash. The camera lacks a macro mode but the auto focus makes up for that when handling close-ups. The camera may not be one of the best ones but it’s good considering that this phone is more of a music phone.

The camera is located on the rear side of the phone with a glass protector that is mounted on the lens itself however you still have to handle it with care in order to not get the lens scratched. The LED flash helps immensely when it comes to taking pictures in low light intensity.

The camera offers a maximum resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Pictures can be viewed in full screen mode and can be transferred to another device quite simply via Bluetooth or can be printed using Picture Bridge. The file structure inside the gallery is fully separated in terms of pictures stored in the phone’s internal memory and memory card.
You can also shoot VGA videos that are recorded at a speed of 15 fps in 3GP format. You can enable or disable voice recording according to your wish.

Ringtones
The phone has 64 tone polyphony and supports MP3, AAC, WMA and AMR formats as well. You can assign individual ringtones to your contacts with personal pictures or videos that play during incoming calls.

It has seven ringing profiles in all that can be activated temporarily with a preset expiry time.

Music player
Nokia 5610 is definitely a state of art phone when it comes to its music functions in fact it might even convince you to leave your MP3 back home. Its Navi slide key speaks volumes about how easy and convenient it is to access music on this phone. The Navi slide also creates light effects for the player.

The Nokia 5610 features a stereo FM radio with RDS but the radio only functions when the headset is plugged in as it also acts as an antenna …so even when you set alarm on the radio you have to keep the head phones plugged in which is a 3.5 mm adapter. The radio can store up to 20 of your favorite music channels. The phone offers four different themes for the radio and the music player.

Talking about the music player it works with files in MP3, AAC, AMR and WMA formats and has 7 equalizer presets and stereo extension options. Songs are filed using ID3 tags or organized by music album, artist, or genre. The music player can run in the background. The phone supports A2DP profile so you can listen to your music via wireless Bluetooth headphones. You can also watch the videos in full screen, a link to this application can be found in the music player. A new and innovative addition made by Nokia.

The only problem that you might face with the player or the radio is that when you remove the rear cover the player stops working anticipating you to work with the memory card and when the rear cover is placed back the player starts an automatic update of the entire music library.

Other Features

This definitely is my first review when the list of additional features is way longer than any other single head.
First things first lets talk about the keypad which is very comfortable and easy to work with although the feature I m in love with is the NaviSlide located right below the display, the end positions of which are back lit in white. The NaviSlide is meant for easy access to music functions sliding to the right takes you to the radio menu and sliding to the left takes you to the music player. It can also lead you back to the main menu. The LEDs at the ends of the NaviSlide can be set to blink in order to indicate missed calls.

The phone also has a very practical voice control system which needs no pre-recording and works with numerous phone features with instantaneous response to user commands. What’s more you can now record calls with a recording limit of 60 minutes. Nokia 5610 uses the same editor for both MMS and SMS. Inserting an image, video, business card, calendar memo turns an SMS into an MMS or you can set the message type manually from the context menu. Another great option is that you can copy paste text from across applications (e.g.: copying a part of the SMS into the calendar).

Now rising and shining can also be fun with your Nokia 5610 where the alarm clock is repeatable and can be set to wake you up on chosen days of the week and will go off even when the phone is switched off. You can also set your favorite radio station to wake you up but make sure you have plugged in your headset incase you want to avail of this option.

The Java application has a pre-installed unit converter, a world time application and the Opera mini 3.0. Among other applications are the Bluetooth sensor and the yahoo search engine.

All work and no play not happening. The Nokia 5610 has games like the 3rd version of Snake, city bloxx and Music guess.

Positives
Trendy and solid body that will make you feel great holding this phone. The phone has a nice display with sharp colors and good contrasts and amazing legibility even under direct sunlight. The phone’s firmware is directly updatable via GSM while GPRS, UTMS and EDGE support faster downloads. Plus there are no limits to the size of attachments. It has built-in browser as well. The battery life is also very good that gives you a good playback time. The camera may not be top of the line but it still maintains consistency is picture quality plus the LED flash helps in taking pictures in low light intensity.

The Nokia 5610 has advanced music options and good quality sound. Digital radio and stereo Bluetooth.
Very good keypad that makes typing a simple task while the Navi Slide makes accessing music effortless. The call record time is 60 minutes and the alarm clock is repeatable.

Negatives
The front panel is susceptible to fingerprints so cleaning it is going to be full time task other than that when you need to open the battery cover it gives a creak which is kind of scary plus the camera lens cover is not all that effective and there are high chances of the lens getting scratched. The LED flash does not act as a flash light.

The only problem that you might face with the player or the radio is that when you remove the rear cover the player stops working anticipating you to work with the memory card and when the rear cover is placed back the player starts an automatic update of the entire music library

The phone has a microUSB port for data transfer that is not all that popular with smart phones these days and the phone cannot be charged through the USB connection made to your PC.

Conclusion
For music fans ……go out ASAP and grab this baby……for others who are looking at all the other features this phone has to offer its not such a bad deal in fact it’s a pretty good one …..As long as you are willing to compromise a little on the camera options.

The phone is selling at about 320 Euros making it a sensible choice keeping in mind all that it has to offer.

Nokia 5310 Specifications,rates and reviews

Nokia 5310 Specifications,rates and reviews
The new Nokia 5310 Xpress Music phone is another one of Nokia slim and stylish pieces. The phone is principally a music device whose other features are more or less compromised on. As long as you are looking for an Mp3 player and a Radio you are going to be pretty satisfied. For people expecting great photos this phone is going to be quite a disappointment.

The Nokia 5310 has high quality materials used in its built and is available in two colors - red and blue. Although at times it may seem a little toy like.
The keypad of Nokia 5310 is space effective and easy to use. Its dedicated music buttons help enhance the entire experience.

Dimensions and weight:
The Nokia 5310 is 9.9mm slim and about 103.8x44.7 mm in dimensions. It weighs about 71 grams. And with these dimensions and weight the phone will fit easily into your pocket without tearing a hole in it.
The phone appears to be quite stylish and slim, which will definitely work to its advantage. However sometimes the phone does tend to look like a toy.

Display:
The Nokia 5310 is armed with a 2” display with a QVGA resolution that can show up to 16 M colors. It has good picture quality as well as legibility under direct sunlight.

The back lighting and contrasts options are not user-configurable. You can only set the phone’s behavior in the power saving mode. You can set animated screensavers or you can choose to have digital clock, the current date and icons indicating missed events as the screen saver. In the sleeping mode the display goes out completely.

The backlighting even though is uneven continues to be functional.

Memory:
The Nokia 5310 has 30 MB internal memory and the memory can be extended up to 2GB using a micro SD card, the inclusion of this card in the package is market dependant. The phonebook can hold up to 2000 entries as well as photo call. The phone also supports hot swap.

Data Transfer:
Not forgetting the fact this handset falls into the low price range please don’t expect any miracles to pop up in this section. The mail client works with POP3, SMTP and IMAP4 protocols and also supports multiple inbox. When you want to send a message, it can find the addresses in the phonebook, attachment size is not limited and you can choose whether you want to download just the headers or the entire messages. The phone relies on EDGE and GPRS for network support.

The phone has an integrated WAP browser that is capable of managing HTML pages. However the opera mini java application is a better option when it comes to browsing the internet, since it is more intuitive and fits better than the integrated browser. The Opera Mini application is pre-installed. Considering this more of a low end phone the browsing is pretty decent.

Once you connect the USB cable, you will have to choose the connection mode. The mass storage option enables you to access the phone’s memory directly from the computer.

The Nokia 5310 has Bluetooth version 2.0 and supports A2DP profile, enabling stereo wireless connection. The phone does not have an infra-red port.

Battery:
The Nokia 5310 comes with a BL-4CT battery. The battery gives up to 5 hours and 20 minutes of talk time and about 300 hours in standby. The battery life may not be something to boast about but at least it saves u the trouble of carrying your charger around everywhere.

Camera:
Nokia 5310 is has a 2 mega pixel camera that lacks both a flash and a dedicated autofocus so if you are thinking of night shots or close-ups you might as well forget about it. The camera has a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels.

The camera does not have a protected lens cover in fact it does not even have a dedicated button to itself (you have to use the confirm button of the D-pad) and these conditions will only add to your grievances when you are looking at a camera which only gives you an average or maybe even below average picture quality. The camera setting include options like white balance, three quality levels ranging from basic to high, and various effects , you can shoot sequence shots both in landscape or portrait mode.

Let me tell you why the camera is a below average one, when it comes to clicking a decent picture if the climate is with you might get one otherwise noise levels are high especially if you have to click pictures of objects that do not have a lot of details example the sky. The lack of autofocus again contributes to poor picture quality in case of close-ups and text is visible only if you take the picture from a distance. Coming to the speed of the camera the one in Nokia 5310 will definitely be a winner if you are looking for the slowest one. If you are saving pictures in the highest resolution then rest assured that your shot-to-shot time is going to increase considerably.

If you thought I am done telling you how bad the camera is then here’s an addition to the list….. The camera has a QCIF resolution for video captures and the lengths of videos depends on the availability of free memory and are stored in 3GP format. Zooming option is available.

Coming to viewing of pictures in the gallery it is a Classic S40 gallery that doubles as a file manager. There are three different viewing options for the gallery: list with details, list and grid. Once you have selected a picture you can zoom in on the picture for more details however zooming is very slow especially for larger pictures and it not that very effective either.

The pictures can be edited in the built-in picture editor…though I doubt you will ever come to making use of it.When it comes to a final verdict on the camera I have one statement: a catastrophe on the geography of the Nokia 5310

Ringtones:
Nokia 5310 supports 64 tone polyphony as well as various other formats like MP3, MP4, WMA, AAC and video tones. You can customize my phone using downloads and the vibration option is also very functional and can be felt in your pocket.

Nokia N76 specification,rates and Reviews

Nokia N76 specification,rates and Reviews

Nokia N76 specification,rates and Reviews
The new Nokia N76 is, sleek, smart and sexy in a clamshell…..available in black and red colors……based on the OS Symbian 9.2 with S60 3Rd edition user interface with Feature Pack 1.

The phone may look really appealing on first glance but the truth is on a closer look you might just feel it’s a lot of plastic which is highly susceptible to fingerprints.I wish the manufacturers had given it a little more steel.

It has two amazing displays to its strength with a keypad which might take a little getting used to.

Dimensions and weight:
The Nokia N76 is 106.5x52 mm in dimension and thickness of 13.7 mm. Incase you think that the phone is very slim, the truth is the size of the phone is compensated in its height which is about a centimeter extra. N76 weighs about 115 grams.

Display:
The Nokia N76 has two displays; the EXTERNAL display uses the TFT format with 262K colors and a resolution of 128x160 pixels. Beneath the external display one can find the keys to control the music player and FM Radio. The Screen is protected by a glossy cover and its legibility cannot be called great.

The INTERNAL display is 2.4 inches using TFT format with 16 M color and a resolution of 240x320 pixels (QVGA).

Brightness of the main display can be altered from the menu which can be arranged in four different ways last two of which are in the form of a horse shoe and V-shaped animated list. The background can be modified using 6 pre-installed themes.

Memory:
The Nokia N76 has a mere 26 MB of internal memory and comes along with a 256 MB memory card. The memory can be extended up to 2 GB with Micro SD memory cards.

Data Transfer:
The Nokia N76 transfers data at a maximum speed of 384 kbps; all data transfers are backed up by UTMS. It works in 3G, EDGE and GPRS networks but lacks HSDPA support. The N76 opens WAP pages along with internet pages which can be browsed in landscape mode. Another major drawback of the phone is that is does not even have Wi-Fi. The phone has an EDR-enabled 2.0 Bluetooth and comes along with a data cable (DKE-2).

The N76 is packaged with a CD that includes applications like Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Life blog, and Adobe Photoshop Album, Nokia Multimedia Player and Nokia Music Manager. The phone can be connected to a PC in 4 modes - PC Suite for synchronization, Data transfers for Mass Storage (gives a speed of about 800kb/s), Image print via Picture Bridge and Media player for connection to Windows Media player Application. The Nokia PC suite can also be used to download new applications which can otherwise be downloaded straight via data transfers.

SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4 protocols work with the email client. Multiple accounts can be operated along with attachments transfers. The ‘Setup Guidebook’ will help you set email account. The phone also has Push to talk. The speed at which the phone works depends upon the number of applications running at a given point of time. Long press on the Symbian key will display the running applications. The red key again in the N76 does not take you a step back instead completely shuts the application except in the case of radio and the music player.

Camera:
The Nokia N76 has two cameras. The CMOS camera above the battery is of 2 mega pixels (manufactured by Toshiba) accompanied by a LED flash. The lens of the camera is non-protected and auto focus is also absent. It has a 20x digital zoom, not very nice though. It has a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels and a minimum of 320x240 pixels. The flash offers a number of modes like automatic, always, red eye effect correction and of course can be turned off as well. The flash does not function as a flash light.

The second camera right above the main display works at a CIF+ resolution (384x320 pixels), and its main function it to make video calls within 3G networks, it can be used for self- portraits and video recording as well.

The phone has various camera options such as exposure compensation, white balance, 6 light modes, ISO sensitivity setup and a self –timer among others.

The Nokia N76 is does not have any exceptional qualities when it comes to picture quality and gives very visible noise. You might just find the pictures a little dull. It fails to deal efficiently with high contrast and macro images. Don’t even think about taking text images!! The life blog application displays all your pictures on a time axis even the ones that are sent or received through messages.

The videos can be taken at resolution of 320x240, 176x144 and 128x96 pixels with a speed of 15 frames per second and are saved .3GP format. Length of your videos depends only on the availability of free memory space. Pictures and videos can be taken both while the phone is open or closed.

Battery:
A Li-Lon battery (BL-4B) of capacity 700 mAh gives the N76 its life. According to the company the Nokia give about 165 minutes of talk time and 204 hours in stand by mode. The N76 gives an average of 2 to 3 days in case of moderate users. Extensive users will need to charge it once everyday. It takes about 2 hours to recharge completely. Since the phone is given the status of the multimedia computer the company claims that it will last up to eight hours in playback mode which is a work of fiction because at a maximum the phone will last about 5 hours.

Ringtones:
Ringing profiles have extensive settings along with call filters and airplane mode. The phone works with MP3, AAC, eAAC, eAAC+ and WMA formats.

Other Features:
Finally today I shall talk about the voice record and the alarm clock; which for so long has been my desire. The voice recorder of the N76 can record up to 60 minutes!!!! It has a decent voice control where in one can switch between profiles, activate Bluetooth etc.

It has a multi-item repeat alarm clock. The phone also features a FM Radio which can store 50 radio stations. The drawback here is that it lacks RDS. Videos are played in the Real Player and the phone also includes flash animations player.

Microsoft office functions are missing but you can still view PDF files through the PDF file Viewer.

Another plus point of this phone is the presence of a 3.5mm jack where in you can plug in a headphone of your choice. The phone features only one game i.e. 3D snake. Incase you want to download other games I suggest you use the Symbian-Based as they are going to be faster than the Java- Based.

Positives
The N76 is sleek and attractive in its make.

The ‘set-up guide book’ is pretty handy when you want to set new email accounts and for data transfers as well.

Several applications can be run at the same time (although it might just affect the speed of your phone).

Videos are recorded in landscape mode and at QVGA resolution even when the phone is closed due to its strategical placement.

The earphones included in the package are decent and can produce good quality sound as an added bonus you are this time around provided with a 3.5mm jack which enables you to plug in ear phones of your choice.

The alarm clock in the N76 is multi-item repeated and the voice recorder can record up to 60 minutes.

Negatives
The phone is highly susceptible to finger points and requires an amazing amount of cleaning.

The keypad requires getting used to. And the external screen might not be all that readable in sunlight.

The phone has only a mere 26 Mb of internal memory.

The phone does not support Wi-Fi or HSDPA which might be its greatest disadvantage when it comes to Data Transfers.

The camera does not feature any extra ordinary capabilities and has the ability to make you feel that your pictures might even be a little below average.

Battery is not all that great either and the phone lasts only up to 4-5 hours in playback mode which is bad considering the phone is characterized as a ‘multi-media computer’.

Plus the phone does not support A2DP profile so you don’t have the option of wireless head phones.

The FM Radio lacks RDS.
The phone jumps open to a half open position and has to be pushed back manually the rest of the way which may not be so convenient due to the toughness in the joint. Also it wont open completely incase you have plugged in your data cable or ear phones.

Conclusion
If you are looking for a stylish and sleek new toy to play with this might just be the phone for you. I wont say it is extensive in its functioning in its camera The battery life in the play mode is way too less to be able to call it a multi media phone. Even for a stylish toy the phone is extremely susceptible to fingerprints although it definitely is the best looking N series phone. For its high price and not so extensive functionality the phone is just a little too expensive.

Easy method of hacking N95 to allow installation of unsigned apps

spent quite a bit of time working on finding an easy way to get unsigned apps on my N95 8GB, so i thought i would post it here to help save some people some massive time wasting.

I have kind of combined a couple of methods to produce one easy 5 minute process.

As for crediting the original people, well I got all the infor/files i needed from multiple sources, so apologies to everyone. I am not taking credit for the creation of the files or the process. maybe for the "fine tuning" hehehe

ok, you will need 4 files, and you need to FOLLOW THIS PROCESS.

Files are available here

The 4 files are here in this zip.

STEP 1:

Install Y Browser on your phone, your phone should allow it as it's signed (it was at the time of this posting)

STEP 2:

Install HelloCarbide.sisx

STEP 3:

Connect Your phone using data transfer mode and copy the other 2 files (installer.exe and CProfDriver_SISX.ldd) to a directory somewhere on the phone (remember where!) I copied mine to E:\Hack

STEP 4: - READ CAREFULLY!!!

Open up Y-Browser
Hit the menu key (so Y-Browser is still running in the background)
Run HelloCarbide from your applications folder.
Click options >> Menu1
--it will say Done....probably
Then click Yes
Go back to Y-Browser
Copy the 2 files mentioned in Step 3 to C:\SYS\BIN

Note: If you accidently exit Y-Browser before you have copied the files, you will have to turn your phone off and back on and repeat step 4

STEP 5:

Once the 2 files are in the SYS\BIN folder, you can turn your phone off and back on and Voila! You will now be able to install unsigned apps like RotateMe etc

Nokia 5300 Mobile phone reviews

Introduction:
The Nokia 5300 belongs to the XpressMusic series, which is at the tip of Nokia's sword for battling Sony Ericsson's Walkman brand. The most notable features on the 5300 are the new 2.5mm earphone jack and dedicated music keys. Today we will see if the 5300 can really substitute your music player.

Physical Aspects:
At first glance, the Nokia 5300 looks like a sports version of 6111. From the color to the material used, you can tell that this device is targeted at the youth market. The main colors used here are chalk white, silver grey, and scarlet red, and they match well with the built in themes. This not a particularly small device, measuring 92.4mm x 48.2mm x 21mm (3.64 x 1.90 x 0.81). The device is not especially light either, but the 107g (3.76oz) mass does not counteract the toy-like and plastic feeling during use. The whole body is made of hard plastic and the red band is anti-slip, which will make it more stable when you slide open the phone. The build is not particularly good though, and the slider does wiggle around, even when closed.

The 2.5mm headset jack is found on the left side, together with three dedicated music keys. The Infrared port, camera, and volume buttons are found on the right. The power button, power jack, and USB port are found on the top, whereas the camera and speaker grille holes are found on the back. Notice that the music keys slightly protrude, making it easier to skip tracks in your pocket, though they can be a bit hard to press. All in all, the Nokia 5300 has a well thought-out design. It would have been better if there was some protection to cover up the USB and power ports, though.

I have not mentioned the microSD slot thus far, as it is not visible from the outside of the handset. To swap your cards, you must open the battery cover. You do not have to switch the phone off and remove the battery, but it is still a hassle.

The keypad on the 5300 is one of the best out there. The keys are large and the tactile feedback is excellent. My only complaint actually arises from the built quality, and it is the obvious when you are text messaging. When you reach up for the d-pad, the slide will wobble, making your grip unstable. Apart from that, the whole keypad is extremely ergonomic, and even the lowest row of keys is very usable, as they are not that close to the edge of the device.

The half auto-open sliding mechanism works fine on the 5300. The only trouble would be the build, as we mentioned earlier, since it will not lock itself when slid up.

In terms of physical design, I am really happy with the 5300. It is a good-looking and ergonomic phone. The build problem and hidden microSD slot are relatively minor.

Multimedia:
The main display on the 5300 is a 262k color TFT LCD measuring 2.0" diagonally. Color is vivid and visibility under the sun is excellent. It is funny that brightness cannot be adjusted, though the screen is already bright enough in most conditions.

The music player interface is completely revamped from older S40 devices, making it easier to skip tracks with just the d-pad. One thing that I miss from the older interface is the display of the song list under the on screen controls. In any event, you can still sort your music by artist, album, genre, and even composer. You can add files to your track list on the go, and the phone supports memory card hot-swapping. The built in memory is only 5MB, but the phone can take microSD cards up to 2GB. Formats supported are MP3, M4A, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and WMA. This should be enough for most people. Nokia claim that the 5300 can last for 12 hours for music playback.
